In many ways, Chicago's Magna Health Systems' (MHS) business model is much like any other ASC. Cultivating relationships with surgeons is a driving factor for business development.
But MHS is also significantly different from other players in the industry. A proactive and leading-edge marketing initiative - targeting bothsurgeons and prospective patients - sets them apart from many others in the business. It's a successful program that leaves some people curious,if not mystified.
Construction has completed and the first tenants have opened for business at
Magna Medical Campus, a 60,000 square foot, three story medical office building located at the intersection of Cicero Avenue and
State Highway in Bedford Park, Illinois.
Magna Health Systems has opened their 13,000 square foot Ambulatory Surgical Care Center and will open their 8,000 square foot diagnostic center and business office at the Campus. Magna relocated their Southwestern Surgery Center from the Beverly area to the new Campus. The Campus will also include an Immediate/Urgent Care center and physician offices.
The building was designed by Arete-Knight Design Group and constructed by Ledcor Construction, LLC. Magna Health Systems operates 900 North Surgery Center located at 900 N. Michigan, Chicago.
According to Dr. Kenny Bozorgi, Medical Director for Magna Health Systems, the surgery center offers prospective physicians tenants opportunity to participate in significant ancillary revenue streams through participation in the surgery center as well as the convenience of scheduling multiple procedures within steps of the office. The patient also enjoys the convenience of diagnosis, pathology/lab work, diagnostic imaging and surgery all within a comfortable non-clinical environment.
